Another missing marriage. Can anyone help?
Henry James Flower bpt. May 8 1881 Bishopsgate, London. Father: Henry James Flower, boot maker. Mother Fanny Eliza Flower nee Mason.
1901 census: living with his grandmother Dorothea Mason in St. Botolph Without, Bishopsgate, London.
1921 census: living at 42 Millbrook Road, Edmonton, Middlesex. with wife Selina.
I can't find him in 1911, so somewhere between 1901 and 1921 he married, but can't find a marriage for them.
Any help or suggestions gratefully received.

Was she the Selina Rebecca Flower b 1880 died 1970 Herts? Henry died Herts 1950.
If so - she was born as Carter
-
Did he die in 1957, if so widow was named as Selina Rebecca Flower on probate index - address was St Pauls Road, Islington
Red alert but posting anyway

Thank you CaroleW, rosie99, ShaunJ and Christine53 for this information, and so quickly! It never ceases to surprise me how all of you at Rootschat can find these trails. No wonder I couldn't find a marriage in London... It looks like they both must have intended to immigrate to Canada, and then came back to London. I wonder if they knew each other before Canada? Or perhaps met on the journey out? Another story to ponder over.
Many, many thanks again to you all.

Dorothy Ella died 21 Jul 1910 and Henry Thomas died 19 Jul 1910 in Ottawa.
Perhaps that's why they returned to England.

There is a Selina Carter on a passenger list from Liverpool 9th April 1908 age 25 occ Dressmaker going to Halifax N.S
-
Selina arrived in Halifax NS on 20th April, just 7 days before her marriage in Ottawa.
-
Thanks again Christine53 and rosie99 for this. How tragic about the children. They must have just wanted to leave all that behind.
-
Thank you ShaunJ for that. Surely an indication that she knew Henry beforehand.

Did you notice that the witnesses were surname Carter ::)

rosie99 - no I hadn't clocked that! So it looks like she had family out there already.
-
The image of the marriage posted by Christine shows them as Chas. Carter and Alfred Carter both of Ottawa

Thanks for this rosie99. So definitely Carter family out there. Her travelling over 900 miles in 7 days from Halifax, Nova Scotia to Ottawa now has a double purpose: marriage to Henry and seeing her family. I wonder if Henry is working for/with the Carter family? They must have all been acquainted in London at some point.
