Can't understand why last week's diary has to be locked so soon.?

Had a nice day out today to a large town that I have not been to for years  nice lunch out  which was a bonus, plus  lovely weather and traffic was good despite it being  half term,

Another week gone for you Viktoria,     your weeks recuperation  is going very quickly  but you must be patient

Seemingly because one person didn't like us adding to it..........  :-\

Lovely sunny day here, not quite as cold as yesterday. I can put up with the autumn/ winter weather when it's like this, it's those gloomy grey days that get me down.

Well a thought occurred to me,I have not checked re pacemakers and stairlifts!
Seemingly they are O.K.

Yes three weeks gone by on Thursday ,so half way through .
Not very much pain now and sleeping better ,the odd occasion when I almost forget and raise my arm !

Daughter phones this evening .Oh I wish I could turn the clocks back a few years ,like about fifty years when we left our orders at the corner shop on the way to taking the children to school  and pick them up on our homeward journey .
What a marathon with Tesco—- failed to deliver yesterday evening and so I reordered the same order but they left off three items which meant I was charged for packing and delivery as I was then below the minimum spend so had charges added.
Seems to be O.K now but no delivery until tomorrow .
Progress? It does not seem so to me sometimes.

Quite a cold day but bright and I hoped my ramp man would come ,it might have been finished today but no one came .

Don’t you have to be patient when you are old !

Well Mastermind,Only Connect ,University Challenge on this evening , I like those
Dud not do very well with The 100% Club last time .

Well look after yourselves folks.
Viktoria.

How quickly we seem to be zipping through October… where has it all gone!
Sunny day to start.. washing out then squally showers off and on so it all got another wash!
Last week we were in Lyme Regis, lovely place.. weather cloudy but not cold and did have a glimpse of sunshine on the Tuesday doesn’t everything look so much better in the sun… first time we’ve used Airbnb and delightful little bijou place.

Glad to hear your getting on well Viktoria and I’m sure the next three weeks will whizz by..congrats on becoming a gt grandma to another baby very exciting.

Getting ready for our Christmas Fayre on Dec 6th… busy doing lots of sewing now holiday, lots docs appts, OH’s birthday out the way .. I’d love to hand the reins of organising to someone else ( younger!) for tge next one in 2 yrs time! Raising money again for Young Carers.

Take care and stay well… seems to be a bit of covid doing the rounds so need to stay clear!

I AM FED UP WITH APPS

Yes I am shouting,  every day there is  something that comes  online  concerning  Apps, I  don’t do apps on anything,  drives me mad.
Was  a really  nice day till lunch time  then the sun went in, I had been at the church hall sorting stuff out for the forthcoming bazaar, not going to do white  elephant this time but a Christmas table , that will make a change.
Been given a few good ideas of wine or water tombola, that should be fun, we have a retired fireman who I jokingly talked into doing running it, has a very dry humour, he said he won't be changing  water into wine,  so once again all systems go for yet another fun raiser.

Hope everyone is keeping well despite the clock change and the dark nights, lock your doors those who don't want to partake  in trick or treat, I don't believe in it,   someone said it has taken over from Guy Fawkes .

Why do apps bother you so much LM? They're just a shortcut to websites and are a part of modern life, much in the same way that the Internet has been for all these years. They can be very useful, but of course you're not obliged to use them  :)

I hate it when the clocks change, apart from it getting dark so early I find I'm hungry and tired at the wrong times. Halloween seems to have been going on for weeks already. Anyone ringing my doorbell on Friday evening or knocking will be ignored.  ;D

Halloween  i close the curtains and leave as many lights off as I can,  I was fine till a few years ago I had a group  of louts knock and scooped the lot of goodies I had, never again, my grandchildren  only ever came to our house and never knocked on strangers  doors,  and you never know what some people are dishing out.

Caw, we used to love Lyme Regis, went there often. When I was a child it was the Fossil connection, but it's a fascinating place.
I'm not keen on Hallowe'en at all. Refuse to hide away, though. On 5th November I can be found with the cats in a quiet well-curtained room, don't like that, either.
And because of health issues etc. no Christmas tree etc. this year - all my wonderful collection of glass baubles, dating back over 100 years, will stay dustily in the loft, probably not come out again until.....
Ah well.

It has happened again!
My password not being recognised and I have had to sign in every time .
Never know why-
It is very frustrating —-I had  noticed I had made a spelling error but I couldn’t correct it .
Why does this happen ?

All these companies that want us to download their app, you never hear of them offering to give you any extra storage on your device.

I really wish the supermarkets could come up with one single app that accommodated them all.

TY that's a shame. Can you not hang them on something else ? A bare branch or two Some tinsel.Or have I got it wrong and it's the attic access that's the problem.  ::)

jimbo50: Problem is getting a "Real" tree located. bought and erected, only then the thought of getting into the loft and lifting down four large plastic "trunks" of carefully wrapped baubles, built up over at least three generations past ours, then checking / fitting/ sorting lights, and then actually unwrapping each bauble, checking then fitting it in place...... used to be at least two nice glasses to do all that, and about 12th night do all in reverse, then lumber the boxes up.....
- And I'm not a minimalist to manage a tasteful bare branch!
Add to which, a couple of lively young cats .... and OH not very well nowadays. Simply no energy to spare.
Viktoria, were you told about not getting too close to some forms of magnets / vibration sources? There's a sort of sludge magnet thing attached to our heating system I was warned to stay away from that area when first I got a pacemaker. And I used to use an electrical engraver quite a lot, with glass, and that apparently isn't good, or microwaves. Check such things out with your medics.

We have to chamber into the loft for our decorations along eith all the things I have collected this year for the fetes and bazaars , our days are numbered clamberiing about, same as getting out of the bath, my days are numbered about that as well but I do consider myself to be reasonably  agile, arm strength is my biggest problem and before anyone asks if I  an lift my right arm  the answer is yes but I don't drink pints!,

Quite a nice day considering  what a horrible day it was yesterday, sun fading  a bit now , I also think it is a bit warmer  my husband doesn't, he is  a chilly mortal.

Viktoria  and who are a bit under the weather i hope they are feeling stronger, nearly 4 weejs Viktoria.

keep warm folks.

Well folks,I have made 30+ attempts to log in!
Have been told that another registered user has my name and password ,so not sure what was wrong, was panicking that I was for some reason being excluded ——- ??? ??? ??? ??? ???
Finally I am back in.
Makes me realise how much I value RootsChat!

Forgotten now what I wanted to say ——- ???

I can imagine it is an extremely busy site -and run by volunteers too, so thanks folks for getting me back in .phew!
Was getting withdrawal symptoms !

A strange day ,cricked my neck this morning so vertigo for an hour or more and a bit didgeridoo all day!

Something wrong with my phone, phoned grand daughter this morning to say  Happy Birthday ,no answer, but thought she may be driving .
Nothing throughout the day and I posted her card more than a week ago .
So phoned my daughter but no reply.
Got my son to phone,,seemingly G,D,had tried to phone ,I did last number recall but an unknown number came up, I phoned it and it was an energy company cold calling ,it was after working hours so a recorded reply !
Don’t know what is going on .

Well Andrew is no longer a Prince, what a disgrace .I don’t recall him doing many duties so no loss ,glad The Queen did not have to do it.
But a painful duty for The King .
In fact very few family members seem to undertake duties, Princess Margaret’s children, Andrew’s daughters, Princess Anne’s family ——-

Well it is late and I am back in RootsChat so that is good .
Night night ,Viktoria.

Viktoria, going back to something you said earlier, I think it is outrageous that Tesco charged you for delivery when your order fell below the required level due to them not having items. I think that is atrocious.

I've had problems with Tesco, and they don't even have an email address on their website to complain.  You have to use that awful Facebook thing.

Morning folks.
Glad you are back on track Viktoria   yes, we do miss our computers when things are down, bit like the morning  paper,  sometimes I wonder about a daily paper now with what is going,  this morning our paper hasn't arrived , perhaps they have been updating  the latest news, let's hope now that the papers leave Mr Mountbatten Windsor alone and let him live his life and the royals can continue their duties.

Weather dull this morning  but no rain, hope it stays that way.

Keepsafe, Halloween,  I am in tonight,  doors  and curtains  closed.

Just a little note about Tesco… on the odd occasion I’ve had to contact them if you scroll down on your receipt email you will find a customer service number. I have found them very helpful and are great at refunding immediately if there’s an issue.. so Viktoria if you call them I’m sure they’ll reimburse your delivery charge as it’s their fault your shopping was below the limit.
They can also be contacted vis WhatsApp where you can send pictures too if needs be.
Hope that helps.

Just seen Viktoria’s reply so forget all I said!

Thanks Caroline, when you eventually get through to a person there is no quibble and a refund or voucher is credited to you.

Just put some delicate washing in on wool programme ,but washer only  going one way ,I usually hand wash good woollens so can’t remember if on that programme one way is O.K.
We will see!
A dark damp morning , so washing will be on clothes maiden ,anyway I can’t reach the line for another three weeks but the maiden is O.K,not too high to lift arm to.
Lily is one year old on 12th November ,a little video of her standing in her play pen,  my daughters lovely little Border Terrier is busy killing a non existent rat under the settee, growling and barking ,Lily is imitating Bryn, it is really funny.

Well no news really ,so look after yourselves ,thanks for the kind helpful comments folks.
Viktoria.

Ooooooohh!!  Just thought - am I too late to start cooking the sprouts?  ;D

Best Wishes to you and your twin LM, many happy returns  :)

Back from a few days road trip, we've managed to clock up a fair few kms on the new car in 6 weeks gallivanting here and there with road trips ... still refer to it as mileage  :D

Lovely catching up with 2 groups of friends at 2 events, 1 absentee at 2nd one who called off having tested positive for covid.

Be well all ... start of another new week for diary, gone 5.20pm Monday 3rd for us NZ  :)

Thank you Mare, had a really nice day but unfortunately  not with our daughter as she has a bad cold,  week in Cornwall surfing and she returns with germs which we steer clear of now, so we went out to lunch with our grandaughter  and 2 friends who took up my daughter place at the table.

Covid is still lurking  so we have to be aware but thankfully minor to what it was initially,   we are fully jabbed up but I don't think it makes much difference.

We still refer to things in what I call   " old money" feet and Inches,  ounces and  pounds  but the cash is different, can't get away with using old money  terms with that but it doesn't stop us comparing  things.

Dull day but what can we expect?

Over to the new week before this gets locked
