Regarding the name LEYENT ......
There is this interesting marriage in Huntspill
31 Mar 1766
John LYON (he signs "LEYENT") and Amy MARTIN
So was the name at one point LYON?
Or written "Leyent" but pronounced "Lyon" (like in French)?
Looking through records on FreeReg, there are quite a few LEYENT marriage and baptisms associated with Huntspill in particular.
