I've tried two browsers but both fail to get anywhere try to do stuff on the Ancestry web site.

Ancestry was down for me this morning but sorted by early afternoon.

It may be the same problem that has been affecting many websites today.

Yes down for me too, saying Cloudfare at Manchester gateway!

It was mostly working earlier but not now. Perhaps they’re trying to decide how much of a refund we’re entitled to!?

I’ve been trying to use it at intervals all day, partially came back up across lunchtime/early afternoon, then got slower and slower and as of fifteen minutes ago disappeared completely.
They may be down while they clear the server side DNS cache but you can also clear the DNS cache on your own device which can help in these situations.

Edit. Still down for me 30 minutes later … so I’m guessing it’s not a simple reset post the AWS issue.

Ancestry is out here in New England too.  I suspect it's part of this larger problem but who knows.

Called Ancestry, they said it is down for maintenance. I said why was there no notice?! They were fudging the answers, then came back and said unscheduled maintenance. They don't know when their site will be back up.

Not just Ancestry, many websites are down probably due to the Amazon Web Services (AWS)'s outage.

Findagrave has been out all day too... haven't checked this evening though. I was hoping they would have chased the gremlins away by now
