				Hi,
Barbara Auld m Walter Currie in Canongate, Edinburgh in 1822, father Alexander Auld. Barbara and Walter moved to Marylebone, Middlesex UK by 1841. I am trying to confirm Barbara's birth location. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Not that it helps much but her father was listed as a Wright living in the Parish of Week(??) at the time of the marriage
Added - Could the parish be Wick, Caithness :-\

No registration for Barbara Auld in Scotland, although there were 14 Auld’s, father Alexander, spread throughout Scotland, none in Edinburgh. It is possible that the record was not recorded or has not survived?
Best of unlikely possibilities below.
Barbara was one of 5 born Inverurie, plus 1 Gall in New Macher in 1810.
BARBARA GAULD 3/01/1801 Inverurie, Aberdeenshire
ALEXANDER GAULD/ELSPET HARPER

I think this is very significant - thank you. I had a Caithness suspect but couldn't make the Edinburgh connection!

Personally I do not see the word as Wick but I cannot find anything better.
However by strange coincidence, which might be a red-herring, I came across the following on SP and it might be one for Forfarian?
ALEXANDER OLD  Married  JANET NICHOLSON 3/06/1775 Wick
The Scottish word for Auld.
I can only find one child?
ISOBEL OLD 7/03/1796 Carrington or Primrose, Midlothian.

I read it as Week but that's pretty much how it might sound to someone unfamiliar with the name, so I'd go with Wick.

I'm flattered but why specifically me?

 Correct.

Two more; see screenshot. It looks as if Alexander could perhaps be an itinerant worker. The original baptism records might shed some light on that.

You're doing well. That does look very convincing.
