Hi, is anyone searching Mary Ann Burns nee Blott, born June 1909. Married James Burns 1928. James died in 1931
Mary Ann married James Burns in 1928, they had one son Walter J Burns born 31/07/1928. Walter was evacuated to Bridlington, he appears in the 1939 register. James Burns dies in 1931, I cannot find any trace of Mary Ann or Walter.

There is a marriage in 1934, Middlesbrough between Mary Burns and Robert Ramsay.
You can find the couple in 1939 to check. That register shows that she married Hutchinson in 1947.
Free BMD shows the spouse as Francis Hutchinson.
Electoral registers show this couple living in Ormesby Ward until mid 1950s.
It might be worth your checking them out.

Rosie, we always thought his middle was James, as it was a prominent name used by generations of Burns.

Whilst the 1939 war register has a large inkspot on Mary's day of birth I think I can make out the 3rd May 1909.  Baptism record appears to show 3.5.1909--no father recorded only mother Mary.

It would appear Mary had 2 children with Robert Ramsay, 1935 & 40, plus a son with dual entry surname in 1947, sadly died same year,

Mary's mother Mary Ann Blott married James Herman in 1910. Mary Ann jnr appears with mother as Mary Herman in 1911 census in Middlesborough, and 1921 with both parents and half siblings.

Thank you everyone for your valued help. No closer to finding Walter J Burns. He just seems to disappear after 1939.

There is a death in Beverley reg district in 2016 for a Walter Burns bn c1928.  It is possible that he did not carry on his middle name

Rosie, I've checked the Beverley death, it's not him.  Thank you.
