Can anyone give me any information on a Thomas prior Osborn from Leighton buzzard he married in St Alban's to a lady with the surname Harris. And prior as the middle name does it mean he had connection to a priory?
-
Can you include a timescale please? Are you referring to the 1908 marriage in Herts?
Would suggest Prior is more likely to be a family name than a religious connection.
-
Yes married 1908
-
Have you found them on the 1911 census to confirm his birthyear then looked for him on earlier censuses?
Have you checked freebmd for a birth?
Do you have the marriage cert showing his fathers name?
BTW -surname is Osborne on the marriage entry
-
No I don't have a marriage certificate short on funds. He is connected to Percival from my Herts post. And the son John is still alive nearly 90. Just trying to find out did the family originally came from Leighton buzzard and how far back.

All censuses are free to search here

Here is the marriage from freebmd
Marriages Sep 1908
HARRIS Florence St. Albans 3a 1553
Osborne Thomas Prior St. Albans 3a 1553
There is a tree on Ancestry showing his parents as Thomas J & Jemima & his birthyear as approx 1887

Hi,
You can find his birth here,
https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/login.asp
You have to register but it's free to search.
It shows that his mother's surname was PRIOR.
Regards,
Daisy
