If it helps, on the marriage cert John BELL is a cabinet maker. (John signs, Elizabeth by mark.)

Hi
Here's what I can see for Manchester Cath children of John and Elizabeth.
There is no more info given.
Charles Morris Bell 28.5.1797
Sarah 30.6.1799
John 4.8.1799
Rebecca 6.7.1800
Mary Ann 10.10.1802
Elizabeth 25.11.1807 (actually 1808) born Nov 4th
possible twin Mary Ann further up page surname Ball
Thomas 15.4.1810
As you can see it may be them ,it may be another couple.

Amazing. Ah....I did see the name 'Ball' and completely ignored it. So that is terrific. Also, twins are in the family (most generations seem to have at least one set within the cousins) so will now check further. Terrific.

On the 9th Ralph Bell baptism 1708 Son of Thos Bell "plasterer"
Can anyone deciper the words after 'plasterer'..
-
I think it says "plaisterer by St Peters church" (as their abode). Plaisterer being old spelling for plasterer.

The church you mentioned is The Cathedral and Collegiate Church

Was wondering if it shows any status (wid.) etc. or any witnesses.ds

Viktoria.

Seems to be Newcastle upon Tyne; so I can rule this couple out (for now).
The two names are synonymous with another couple (strange) and annoying.
Tks
