I have tried using the other words on the page and preceding addresses to see if I can work out the name of this street but so far to no avail. Can anyone else manage to read it please?
The place is in Bilton in Harrogate
Thanks

I think it’s Springfield Terrace.
-
I read: Springfield Ter(race)
Internet says there is one in Harrogate but puts "Burnt Yates" in the middle.
I see JenB also sees that.

Agree with the others.
1 Springfield Ter (Terrace)
Swan???

This looks like it https://maps.nls.uk/view/229916970#zoom=4.0&lat=7460&lon=14815&layers=BT

Swan Ter(race) but the map disagrees.

Swan???
Swan Ter(race) but the map disagrees.
On the very next page in the census it has Springfield Terrace, Swan Lane :-\

Looking at the map, at the bottom end of Springfield Terrace you can see Lancaster Villa, which immediately precedes the Terrace on the census.
Over the road you can see The Cedars, which comes immediately after the Terrace in the census.
So I think this has to be the right place.
For anyone else wishing to look, the census reference (1891) is RG 12/3519/146/7

It’s ‘Hydropathic’ ;D
If you want to know more just google Harrogate Hydropathic. It’s now The Old Swan Hotel.
Hydropathic Hotels were popular in Victorian times. There was one just round the corner from me - it’s now part of the High School.

In Southport, the Smedley's Hydropathic building became the home of the General Register Office when it moved out of London.
