Mary Brown STRAHAN married John WILSON at Ballymena on 19 Nov 1869. Her father is indicated as Thomas STRAHAN, farmer. One of the witnesses was Hamilton ROSS MD
Trying to confirm if Mary is the daughter of Thomas STRAHAN and Mary ROSS of who were at what looks like Clogh or Clough. Spelt either way. Also at Killygore, although that is spelt different ways as well. They married at Ballymena 26 November 1845. Her father was John ROSS. Thomas and Mary had a son Hamilton Ross STRAHAN 1857-1946. Came to New Zealand.
John WILSON and Mary Brown STRAHAN had a son Hamilton Ross WILSON 1879-1958. Also came to NZ.
Some trees on Ancestry have Hamilton ROSS and Mary ROSS as brother and sister, parents being John ROSS and Catherine McELHERON.
Thanks

Marriage of Hamilton Ross in India shows his father as John Ross.

1901 census for Hamilton Ross shows birth as Clough, Antrim

Perhaps more clues to follow up on:
The marriage of Thomas Strahan and Mary Ross shows witnesses as Robert Ross and Charles McElheron.

Hamilton Ross’s marriage and his entry in the U.K. Roll, Indian Medical Service Roll shows his name as Hamilton McElherron Ross. (Variation in spelling)

A small part of the 1851 census of Co Antrim has survived. This may be Hamilton Ross shown with parents John & Catherine in Dunbought, parish of Dunaghy (but actually residing in Ballymena):

Findagrave has 25 Ross graves in Clough cemetery including Catherine 1790 - 3rd Jun 1861 and John Ross 1787 - 7 Aug 1872.

Thanks heywood and Elwyn.
I think now that Mary Brown STRAHAN is the daughter of Thomas and Mary.
Have found her husband John Wilson's death in Ballydugenan, Duneane in Apr 1889.
Have not been able to find Mary Brown Wilson's death. She was still alive in 1911 census aged 62 so suspect that she may have died after 1921.

For deaths in NI after 31.12.1921 you need the GRONI site. Only they have the records.

Northern Whig, 23 January 1924:
WILSON - At Ballydugan, Toomebridge, Mary Brown, widow of the late John Wilson. Her remains will be removed for interment on Friday, 25th inst., in Lower Duneane Churchyard. New Zealand papers please copy.
Duneane Church of Ireland Graveyard:
Erected by his family to the memory of the late John Wilson of Ballydugenan, who departed this life 29th October 1844 aged 76 years, also his beloved wife Alicia Wilson who departed this life 29th of February 1869, aged 74 years, also John Wilson, who died 21st April 1898 aged 56 years, also his wife Mary Brown Wilson who died 26th January 1924
The dates for John and Mary in the transcription of the grave inscription are wrong, I know. I also haven't yet found a civil registration for her death.

Probate abstract from the PRONI wills site. The will itself should be in PRONI.
Wilson Mary Brown of Ballydugan county Antrim widow died 22 January 1924 Probate Belfast 27 March to Thomas Wilson manager. Effects £125.

Thanks gaffy and Elwyn.
I think all the dates on that stone might be suspicious. In Alicia's death there isn't a 29 Feb 1869, and can't find her death registration so possibly not registered at all.
John jnr died 21 Apr 1889, had found his death registration.
Could not find registrations for Mary's parents either. Dates appear to have come from gravestone. Mary STRAHAN died 1898 and Thomas in 1907.

The GRONI website death registration index shows a death registered at Antrim for an Alicia Wilson who died on 27 February 1869, reported age 73.
Added: Belfast Weekly News, 13 March 1869: WILSON - February 27, at her residence, Ballydugenan, Toomebridge, Mrs. Wilson, aged 74 years.
-
Belfast Morning News, 22 November 1869: November 17, in Ballymena Presbyterian Church, by the Rev. John Robinson, John Wilson, Esq., of Ballydugenan, Toomebridge, to Mary, eldest daughter of T. Strahan, Esq., Killygore House, Clough.

There is no death for Alicia on the Irish Genealogy website, which is where I had been looking.
The informant for John Wilson's death in 1889 was his sister Margaret CHESNEY. Found a marriage for a Margaret WILSON to a John CHESNEY in 1864 at Duneane. She died in 1898 and is buried in the Duneane churchyard with her husband John.
There is a memorial on Findagrave for him which has quite a few names on the headstone, one of which is a John THOMPSON, who is labelled as Margaret's uncle, which leads me to believe that Alicia WILSON's maiden name was THOMPSON. Margaret had a grandson who had the second name of THOMPSON.

A few errors on that stone as well. John THOMPSON died in 1882 not 1880.

Nearly all deaths from 1864 to 1870 have yet to be digitised, they paused a long time ago when they got back to 1871 with the promise of picking it up again in due course, but never did pick it up again, presumably due to lack of resources.

The births in that time period were indexed but had no images, but they appear to be there now.
The site itself has had an update recently as well. Instead of just typing in the county, or registration district, you are now presented with options.

Images for the birth records on IrishGenealogy have been there since at least 2019.
