Hi
I’m new to Roots Chat. I’m helping a friend with her family tree.
Looking for information on Michael Lyons and his family. He was born in 1904 in Dunmore and on his marriage certificate his father is listed as Michael Lyons farmer.
He married Mary Grehan from Glenamaddy in 1938. They had 11 children.
I’m trying to find the dates of his children’s birth plus his parents and grandparents.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Welcome to RootsChat!
For reference, here is the marriage certificate:

Michael Jr. is a shopkeeper from Dunmore, and his father is a farmer. One of the witnesses is a Patrick Lyons.
He married Mary Grehan from Glenamaddy in 1938. They had 11 children.
I’m trying to find the dates of his children’s birth plus his parents and grandparents.
Civil records of births in Ireland have only been released up to 1924, so the years his children were born would not be covered. Furthermore, RootsChat only deals with deceased people; discussions of living people are not allowed. I imagine quite a few of his children are still alive.
He was born in 1904 in Dunmore
Where did you get this information? Is his year of birth estimated from his death record?
Looking for a Michael Lyons of around the right age in Dunmore in the relevant time period leads only to this one:

Father Michael is a farmer, he has a brother called Patrick and he is residing in Dunmore. However, his year of birth is 1902:

His mother is Bridget Ratigan/Rhatican/Ratican.
Here is the marriage of the parents:

On the marriage record, Mary Grehan was living in the townland of Kiltullagh.

It's about 3 km south of the village of Glenamaddy.

Thanks for the reply.

I worked out his birth date from his death so only approximate. That looks like it could be him on the census. The family christian names carry forward to the next generation.
Thanks
