Title: Look up request for baptism record 1767....
Post by: NoughtyDoughty85 on Saturday 13 September 25 19:21 BST (UK)
Hope you're all having a great weekend!

I cant seem to find a baptism record - I know its a long shot and Im lucky to have gone back to 1767 ish. Thomas Mather b 1767,  - d Jan 1842 - Quarlton or St Anne's(Turton) Bolton -  both are the same area. Now some people have the date of 6 JUL 1766 but no records are attached to any public tree. They have to have gotten this date from somewhere right? Ive checked LAN-OCP, Free Reg etc and no avail. If anyone can help I'd be very grateful.

Regards B xx

If his wife was Alice and they bapt children St Anne, Turton, then if Joshua and Margaret were his Parents I would think they would name children after them.
But they didn't use those names.
They did name children Thomas and Mary though.

Alice was buried 13 Apr 1828 Turton age 67.

Marriage: 8 Feb 1786 St Peter, Bolton, Lancashire
Thos. Mather - (X), Printer, This Parish [Bolton]
Alice Entwisle - (X), Spinster, This Parish [Bolton]
Witnesses: Wm Marsh/Jno Bell
(LancsOPC)

Bapts of their children have him as a Printer/Calico Printer

All info on FreeREG except Marriage.

Thank you to you both for looking. Its frustrating because I cant even find  siblings either without knowing who the parents were and I wouldn't like to assume on who it could be without details. Thank you for looking.

edit - I was thinking that regarding the names being passed down, but yes you are correct thats the right person and Alice.
