Can you please help me to find the marriage date of Ann Rudd, who was born 1858 in Kirby Sigston, North Yorkshire 08.03.1858 Parents Mary & Thomas. Groom, John Matthews born 1855 in Co Laois, Ireland. I think the marriage was in Leeds.

An Ann Rudd married a John Matthews on 26th Oct 1878 at St Mary's Church in Hunslet, Leeds.
This marriage is amongst the West Yorkshire marriages on Ancestry and is shown in full.

Many thanks, not sure why I could not find the date. Ann Rudd had the following siblings, if it is of any interest to anyone. Jane, William, John, James, Walker, Elizabeth & Adam, all born Kirby Sigston, Yorkshire.

No problem Lance.
It's worth going to the Card Catalogue on Ancestry and searching for West Yorkshire baptisms, or marriages or burials for such events occurring in that area.
Needless to say not all of them will be there!
-
Yes, I will do that. Thank you.

Hi Lance - the name 'Ann' can be a real nuisance.
It has variations, such as Anne, Annie (as Dobfarm found) - Nancy, Nanny.
If you use Ancestry you could pick the variations which may be Anne and Annie by using a 'wildcard' (i.e. *) after Ann.
That wildcard is helpful on names which can be mis-spelt such as Margaret (use Marg*) or Elizabeth - (try *Eliz).
And many other forenames and surnames.
Please accept my apologies if you already know this.

Not sure why others don't want to give you more information related to the 1878 marriage. :-\
John Matthews, 23, bachelor, Police Officer. Father - Robert, Farmer
Annie Rudd, 20, spinster. Father - Thomas, Farmer
Both signed the register, and witnesses were Daniel Matthews and Harriett Rudd.
