hi all . I need help regarding the Hints section on the Ancestry site please. I noticed that in the hints section someone had submitted a relatives photo . Unfortunately i am not subscribed so cannot contact this person . "Is there another way I do this?". Thank you .

To contact members, you need to be a member yourself.

Thanks . Stupid me!!.

I just found out from ancestry that apparently "You have disabled messaging"
I'm sure I never did! Perhaps it explains why I have had no messages for yonks. Or perhaps no one wants to talk to me!
Anyway, having fixed that, I can receive messages again.
I have just successfully messaged someone. I am currently just a free member of ancestry, not a subscriber. So it can be done!

You must be at least a free member to have hints?

That doesn't help you contact a tree owner via a hint though.
You have the name of the tree - but not the tree owner's name!

hello Jon , i do have the tree owners name .. but not subscribed , so have had it .. thanks for your contributions .

Is it possible to contact a tree owner using the free access at the local library but give them your email address to reply to you?
-
I think I've tried that - and failed! ;D

thank you KGarrad . I appreciate your support here .

There are certain databases or collections that are available in Ancestry.com, but are NOT included in Ancestry Library Edition:
Obituary Collection
The collection contains recent obituaries from hundreds of newspapers. There is still a strong and growing collection in Ancestry Library Edition. But, newspaper titles offered by ProQuest are not available in the Library Edition. The collection contains both full text and/or abstracting/indexing access to the newspaper titles
Members Connect (previously People Finder)
This feature helps to put users in touch with other researchers looking for the same ancestors.
Historical Newspaper Collection
These are mostly small town newspapers, and most do not have complete series / coverage.
