Title: Löhr Family-Bavaria
Post by: JodyK on Monday 08 September 25 23:19 BST (UK)
Hello,
Seeking the birth record of Joannes Franz Löhr/Lehr born about 1834 possibly in Dorfprodzelten or. Fechenbach, Bavaria.
He was the son of Joseph Löhr and Elizabeth.  "John Frank Lohr/Lehr" immigrated to the United States and lived in New York.  He died in Manhattan in 1895.  He married Margaret Müller in Bavaria.  They had Frederick born  about 1860 in Bavaria, Katharina born about 1863 in Bavaria, and other children in New York.
Thank you for any help.
Jody

Have you looked at the German baptism records of the children born there to obtain further information?

The 1870 NY census shows John Lohr 39 from Bavaria and his family
Also in the same house are Sebastian Lohr age 68 from Bavaria and wife Kunegurda? Age 69

Have you considered they might be related?
It looks as if Sebastian Loehr immigrated in 1866.

He was the son of Joseph Löhr and Elizabeth.

Where does this information come from?

Bavaria" covers a large area so you really need to narrow it down before trying to find records of the family in Germany. There may be some clues to location in your first post on Rootschat-
I am seeking any information on the Zöller family who perhaps lived in the area of Dorfprodzelten and Fechenbach, Bavaria.

Looking for ancestral and family info especially for Emanuel Zöller who was a basket weaver and cooper.  He had a daughter Maria Magdalena who married Anton Löhr on 38 January 1777.  He possibly had a brother or a son Michel and one names Martin.
See reply #3 for link to Dorfprozelten Kirchenbücher (Church Books).

The information as to his parent's names comes from the New York Death record in 1895.
