I have a birth date of 14th April 1900 for Ramon "Mon" Velez Sanchez born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.
He is said to have been about 93 when he died, but where was he then? Puerto Rico or New York or even Florida?
In 1940, he was living in the Bronx, New York and I have an arrival record for him in 1944 in Puerto Rico, but not much after that.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks. Richard

Ramon Velez married Dorothy Solomon in 1927. Their son Andy said: "Neither parent was religious, but there was a lot of friction. They were divorced shortly before their 40th anniversary - so 1967. My father married twice after that and neither one of them cared very much about their religion."
I haven't found the 1950 Census record for them or Ramon's 2nd and 3rd marriage.

I haven't found the 1950 Census record for them

This appears to have the family sailing from Puerto Rico to NY in 1948 with a birth date of 14 Apr. 1902. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:245Q-V31?lang=en
The birth date on the WWII draft registration card also seems to be two years younger than the birth date you have. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:WWVH-7QN2?lang=en
Using that birth date, this appears to be him on the Florida death index - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VVJW-GQH?lang=en
This may be Raymond/Ramon's burial with a later wife who may still be alive listed on the gravestone. http://www.rootschat.com/links/01tz2/

Thanks very much TreeSpirit.
Anc***** had the record under Raymond S Veeler too, which is why I could not find it.
So Raymond (Ramon) and Dorothy divorced about 1967. Raymond remarried twice, but I don't know what happened to Dorothy.

Thank you very much shellyesq.
The birth year for Raymond/Ramon is listed as 1900, 1901 and 1902 on various documents.
You have found the correct death record and burial info for Raymond.
Elisa must have been his 3rd wife.

I might be pushing my luck here, but I wonder if anybody can discover what happened to Dorothy Velez ne้ SOLOMON who married Raymond/Ramn in 1927.
Apparently, they divorced around 1967 and the only death record I see which may fit for Dorothy was on 20th April 1969 in New York. I wonder if this was our Dorothy?

In case it helps, Raymond & Dorothy's marriage license and certificate are here - https://a860-historicalvitalrecords.nyc.gov/view/12129708
Her parents & 3 brothers are still at the address that she listed on the marriage record in 1930. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X7DL-HMB?lang=en

Great! Thanks shellyesq. I'll add those family members to my tree.

I was hoping Dorothy's family might lead to something, but I haven't found any later reference to her.
Her father died in 1932. https://a860-historicalvitalrecords.nyc.gov/view/6125693
Her mother died in 1939, and Dorothy's brother was listed as the informant. https://a860-historicalvitalrecords.nyc.gov/view/6768928
It looks like they were both buried in Beth-El Cemetery in New Jersey, and Abraham's gravestone is shown here. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/210777781/abraham-solomon I didn't see any likely matches for Dorothy there.
It looks like Dorothy was listed as Dora in the 1910 and 1920 census, so she could be under that name somewhere.

Fantastic! The death records for Dorothy's parents, Abraham and Jennie, give their parents' names, so we can add much more to the tree.
My friend thinks that a death year of 1969 for Dorothy is likely.
Thanks so much, shellyesq.
