Facundo Esquivel, sometimes Esquivelzeta, was born 1860-1864 in the Spanish port city of La Coruna in Galicia. I have done much searching with no luck, but I wish to find either a state or church document re his date of birth or baptism. As a young man he sailed to Mexico, where he married in 1889, and twice later, dying in Mexico in 1940. Any help with his birth or baptism will be appreciated. I can read Spanish and Galician, well enough at least.

I won’t be able to help as it’s outside my area, but I can offer a suggestion…..
Tell us where you’ve done ‘much searching’ then we’ll know not to suggest those.
That will save colleagues making fruitless effort, and wasting their time.

Thank you. I have looked on sites such as familysearch and ancestry, as well as a Galician site which has digitised many newspapers from the period. That has references to other Esquivels. I have sent a message to the Archdiocese of Santiago de Compostela, and have discovered that there were approx 9 churches and chapels in La Coruna c1860 where FE might have been baptised.

What is your connection to him & where does he fit into your FH?
You say he married 3 times - is his fathers name shown on any of his marriage certs?

Hi, I and others are trying to trace, on behalf of a family history client of mine, the place and date of birth of Facundo Esquivel in La Coruna or surrounding district. A relative of the Esquivelzeta family, in the US, has done much work without finding FE in Galicia. It is rumoured that his remote ancestors came from El Pais Vasco. Andrew
