Title: India research; Wellington, Madras
Post by: Stacey.tree31 on Friday 29 August 25 11:07 BST (UK)
Hoping someone can help. I dont have much information but trying to find the parents of Howard Cecil Ingram born 1923 in Wellington, Madras, India.
His father was also of the same name, Howard Ingram and was possibly stationed in India with the British Army at the time of Howard Jnr birth.
This is the only information i have apart from Howard Jnr married a lady by the name of Gabrielle Lorraine Leroy who was from Jersey, Channel Islands.
Thank you

British India Office Births and Baptisms is on FindMyPast.  Original image is there and can be bought for a micropayment if you do not have a sub.

Redboxed, so deleted, but leaving info about micropayments

A relatively common name and possibly not whom you are looking for but given the India and occupation there is this from 1963

Arthur Ernest Ingram seems to be a man of mystery.

No obvious birth or census record in the Birmingham area.

No army record.

No marriage record.

An apparently bogus address on the 1948 passenger list ( Beckway Street only went up to 62 on the even side).

I did find two more children: Constance Olga (1918) and Queenie Isabel (1920)

Shaun, the Daisy you found is ---

Daisy Antonette HART (b. 25 Oct 1915 India)
Married in 1935 Madras to Alexander Edward INGRAM (born 1911)
-   Marriage record has parents as John Bernard Ingram and Priscilla / Placella? Ingram

Their Children (not named here for privacy) born in Madras have Catholic baptisms.
Records on FamilySearch

If Daisy was in Beckway street, you would think there is some link between her husband, Alexander Edward Ingram (or his father), and the mysterious Arthur Ernest Ingram.

That record of marriage. Is it indicating that the name John Bernard replaced the previous entry of Wilfred in 1964?!
