Title: Cause of Death Elizabeth Munro 3/6/32
Post by: Kathmferrier on Thursday 21 August 25 16:31 BST (UK)
Thanks to help on another forum I’ve found out the date and place of Elizabeth Munro(nee Park)’s death.
The announcement of her death in, I think, the West Australian simply says died at Cottesloe Beach  Perth. However according to a notice in the Otoga Times her death was ‘following accident’. By a bizarre twist of fate two of her 5 siblings (one of them my great grandfather)also suffered accidental deaths(separate incidents). I’m curious to know what happened to her.
I’m in Scotland and had her death occurred here I could easily and cheaply get the information however in this instance I’ve no idea where to start!

If anyone can point me in the right direction I’d be very grateful.
Thanks

Death certificate is available from WA registry
https://www.wa.gov.au/organisation/department-of-justice/the-registry-of-births-deaths-and-marriages.

This question could have been asked on your other thread.

Hi

Thank you.

I wasn’t sure if it was better to move as it was definitely an Australian query.

I’ve found her on the site. I’ll get the certificate ordered. Unfortunately unlike the Scotlands people I can’t access the info online so I’ll have a bit of a wait to find out her cause of death.

Thanks again.

Trove has a death notice for her
https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/32656947

MUNRO.—On June 3, 1932, at 18 Solomon-street, Cottesloe Beach, Elizabeth, fond sister of Professor James Park, of Dunedin, New Zealand.
Inserted by her devoted niece, L. Gregg.

Cottesloe Beach was the name of a suburb of Perth which is now known as Mosman Park so she didn't die actually at the seaside!

Googlemap shows a mix of older housing and 'knock-down-rebuilds' in Solomon St, Mosman Park.

Adding:
There's a Funeral notice on the same page on Trove.
MUNRO. — The Friends of the late Mrs. Elizabeth Munro, of Aberdeen, and late of No. 18 Solomon-street, Cottesloe Beach, are respectfully notifled that her remains will be interred in the Presbyterian portion of the Karrakatta Cemetery. The Funeral is appointed to leave her late residence, No. 18 Solomon-street, Cottesloe Beach, THIS (Monday) MORNING, at 11 o'clock, arriving at the Cemetery at 11.25 o'clock.
JOSEPH C. SEMKEN, Funeral Director, Fremantle and Cottesloe. Tels. FM2682 and F1066.

It would seem that she died at home.
