Thomas Nevil married Ann Assel, Somersham, Huntingdonshire, 20 Dec 1740. Children are Mary 1741, Alice 1746, Thomas 1748 and John 1750, all in Somersham. I can't find any birth/bapt record for Thomas senior, or trace of his parents in Somersham or nearby. Can anyone help?
Many thanks.

I don't see a baptism for Thomas at the moment, but he and Ann also had:
Elizabeth bap. 2 April 1743
Ann bap. 2 April 1744
at Somersham.

Thank you for this, Galium. I had missed those two.
Still can't find anything for Thomas senior in this area.

When did Thomas Nevil (who married Ann Assel) die?
What is the name of Thomas Nevil's father (who married AA)

Hi shanreagh.
Thomas Nevil died after 1750, when his son John was born. As to his father's name, I am still searching for both parents.

There is Marriage 21 Oct 1766 Bluntisham cum Earith of Elizabeth NEVIL to Thos YOUNG
Why this stood out to me was that a witness was a Thomas ASSELL
Could this be Elizabeth born 1743?
They bapt 2 Janes 1769/1772 as 1st one dies age about 1 mth
Thomas was buried 08 Nov 1772
Elizabeth remarried to John HUBBARD 04 Nov 1776
They seem to have 3 children bapt 1779 and 1783

Thanks for this trish1120.
The proximity to Somersham and the Thomas Assell as witness do look like this could be the Elizabeth Nevil b. 1743. I have been tracing the Assells/Assels as well. There are at least 5 children born in Somersham to Thomas Assel and Ann (no surname) between 1718 and 1726, including a Thomas in 1722. I haven't been able to find a marriage for Thomas Assel and Ann, presumably before 1718, so have no surname for Ann. However, I have also found 2 Thomas Assells buried in Huntingdon in this period:
Thomas Assell buried 20 May 1733, Huntingdon,
Thomas Assell buried 2 May 1734, Huntingdon.
I was assuming this might account for Thomas Assell snr (married to Ann) and their son Thomas, b. 1722, but your witness Thomas Assell shows other possibilities. I will have to try and find the wills of the 2 Thomas buried 1733 and 1744 to see if that makes thing clearer.
Thanks again for this added information.
