Title: Thomas Warman/Warmon m Mary Rowley at Standon, 30th April 1705
Post by: Opal on Thursday 21 August 25 14:48 BST (UK)
On HALS, I have found the marriage of Mary Rowley to Warman at Standon on the 30th April 1705. I have found the same date and place of marriage of Mary Rowley to 'Warmon Rowley', which must be the wrong transcription.  I am hoping that this is the marriage of Thomas Warman of Albury to Mary Rowley.  Does anyone, please have access to the Standon PR that can confirm the entry details?  Thank you.

Standon marriage images are on FindMyPast for this period but that marriage has not been transcribed, I can't see it on the original either

Thank you for looking.  That is the problem I have found when searching for it on the databases.  I think only seeing the actual PR will clarify.

It is not clear as to whether the register images on FindMyPast are from a PR or BT  :-\

Ancestry have it in 'England, Select Marriages, FHL number' with Warmon Rowley as the spouse. I couldn't find it on Family Search.  I had looked on Find My Past and found what you did.  Thank you for helping.  I was hoping Free Parish Registers would have it but the marriages for that period for Standon haven't been transcribed.

I've also been looking for a birth & marriage in Standon but much earlier (no luck so far)
Consequently I have a copy of the PR's so checked 1705...

I have found the marriage record you're looking for and I can understand why it was so hard to transcribe.
It seems to have been written as an afterthought as the first marriage in 1705 between John Mils? and Margaret R..  was dated May 29

April 30th and groom & bride's details should be before May   ::)

Good Luck - hope you can make sense of this

Thank you so much for that!   I can see why the transcription was difficult.  It definitely happened between a Warman and Mary Rowley.  I am thinking that his Christian name wasn't remembered maybe!  It fits with the first child being baptized in Manuden in 1707 and others thereafter in that parish, with parents of Thomas and Mary Warman.
