Hi
My Findmypast subscription expired on 15th of this month and I remembered to cancel auto renewal last week. I have been patient and waited to see if they contact me. I have just received an email offering 50% discount. 😊
Thought I would just let people know it works if you wait a few days

A useful reminder Sue. It was back in April when I got 50% discount as I reported here.
I do not think anyone needs to or should pay the full price now that it has got so high.
-
That's really interesting Sue & thanks very much for letting us all know. Will be trying that next time I have to renew ;D
-
Ellenmai, I suggest you stop the auto renewal of your prescription now. When they ask why you did it you could tell them you cannot afford it as I did.
My OH had an Ancestry subscription and did not take my advice to stop the auto renewal months ago. Last month it auto renewed at the full price. The price of a nice meal out wasted.

I have been sent this link about 50% FindMyPast subscriptions.
https://www.lostcousins.com/newsletters2/lateaug25news.htm
It was suppposed to have run out yesterday but was still working earlier today. Looks like you might only be able to get one month at a time but still worth using if anyone wanted to try out FindMyPast.

Offer extended to 15th September..
Includes annual subscription.
-
Sorry, should have added offer no longer just for Lost Cousin's members.
New and lapsed subscribers only though.
-
Excellent bit of information and presumably their best offer ever!
FindMyPast took enough money off me when they were still www.1837online.com, back in the day.
Many thanks for this info

How do you cancel auto-renewal? I can only find the cancel the subscription. Help.
-
That's it. Cancel subscription. It then won't auto renewal.
-
To take advantage of the current offer, I think you would have had to cancel before now.
-
Extended to 30th September according to an e-mail from TNA just received. See here (https://www.findmypast.co.uk/subscribe?utm_source=tna&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=september_sale).

The 50% FPM offer seems to have expired in Sep but there is still an offer of about 40% via the list cousins link. The BNA seems better value at 25% off, so I'm opting for that.
Thanks to all for your help.

I cancelled my subscription just before renewal a few days ago, as I have a code for 25% off via a family history society membership. I just tried the Lost Cousins link though and that now resolves to an offer of 30% off of the Everything subscription at £118.99. I'm in two minds whether to go for that or wait a while and see if I get a personal 50% offer from FindMyPast direct.

I have just renewed Everything for £98, I let the subs lapse 6 months ago and I waited until I got a good offer.
Ring them up and horse trade.

Where did you get the offer from. Can you share it with us?
-
I've just done the same and was offered 'Everything' for £98.59 for a year which is 42% off they say.
All I did was sign into my old account. The first time they offered me 25% and I just came out of the site. I went back in again a little later and they were now offering the same thing at 42% off.
No haggling required!
