The words on this clip are from the record of a man in the Royal Navy. I am hoping someone can decipher and explain them. The entries for the village (Goodnestone) on Roll-of-honour have no details for him and I am hoping to get some added. He was invalided out and died in 1920.

"M.O.P." is presumably Ministry of Pensions
-
That makes sense - thank you.
-
Possibly Google search ???
"In some countries, "MOP" can stand for the Ministry of Personnel, which is a government department responsible for human resources and civil service matters"
-
I am also puzzled by the words on the left, under "invalided". Possibly something medical rather than military.
-
under "invalided":
(Excision of ?)
? possibly Testicle with wrong spelling
A digital copy of his death cert is available from the GRO.

(Excision of Tentacle)
"Excision of tentacle" most commonly refers to the surgical removal of tentacle-like projections, often associated with tumors or other tissue growths.

Thanks Tony - it could well say that.
