I have finally managed to successfully transfer a FTM Custom Report 'Tree Index' to a spreadsheet in tabular form. I intend transferring it to a database when I finish tweaking/editing it. I am including spouses where appropriate but I would like to link those entries to that individual's record.
Is it possible? Would those links survive any sorting or rearranging of the data?
I am using LibreOffice Calc & Base on W7 OS.
Any help/advice would be most appreciated.
Thanks.
Malcolm.

When you say you want to link to the individual's record, do you mean the record on FTM? It's not possible to make such a link - you can access FTM records only by using FTM.
Or have I misunderstood?

Hi Martin,
Yes, you have misunderstood. :)
I want the database/spreadsheet to automatically scroll to that person when I click on their name.
There are over 750 people in the index and some near the beginning are married to ones near the end, i.e. BERRY to WILSON, and I hate scrolling through long lists. :-[
Thanks for your interest.
Malcolm.
Edit:- Here's a clip of the file I'm using.

Malcolm,
Hi, well I am going to ask the unasked question, what are you trying to achieve. This seems like a backwards step. FTM is a powerful targeted database, rolling your own will be painfull.
If you want to use something else I would do a Gedcom export, but you will still need probably need to re link any facts etc.

I'm trying to collate all BMD, bap and burial dates for all individuals together in an easily viewable format. FTM doesn't do that, yes it will compile a report of such data but on separate lines, viz:-
Name
Birth
Baptism
Marriage
Death
Burial
Spouse
That's 7 lines + a blank line between individuals ...need I say more.
I want to see at a glance what info I've got and what I haven't!
I have done that but I suppose I'm trying to gild the lily by making it easier to go to the Spouse directly so I can enter the same data say for a marriage or to check Burial dates for example, especially if I'm out and about without access to my tree on a tablet. (I've yet to find a satisfactory app that I'm truly happy with.)

Being silly perhaps here. You are running windows 7 so an older version than mine I guess. But don’t you still have list of individuals report?
You have made me go and look at mine now, and the Data Errors Report, oh dear, some work to do!
PS I understand about apps, I seem to use a mix of FTM and Ancestry, with the pains that that can bring.

I use filters in FTM to do that sort of thing. For example to show all descendants of a person that haven't got a death record.
