In 1911 Walter Worboys is living in Water Street Chesterton Cambridge.
Living with him are Rosalie and Winifred May Worboys , wife and daughter.
In 1921 Walter is living in Stapleford, Cambs with Rosalie and four children
Percy 1911, Ethel Annie 1912, Walter H 1915 and Ronald A 1917.
There was also a Gwennie Rosella Emily Worboys born 1923 to Walter and Rosalie, Stapleford
Can anyone see a maiden name for Rosalie and did Walter and Rosalie marry?

I think you mean Ethel A
There's a Herbert Walter mmn Mead in Chesterton in 1915. Is he the Walter H on census with forenames switched?
-
Theory:
Rosalie Mead marries a Mr Lawrence, they split up and she meets Walter. They have several children registered as if they were married. Mr Lawrence dies (or maybe there's a divorce) in 1915, allowing Rosalie and Walter to marry.
As to the anomaly of maiden names: maybe the register asked what was the mother's former surname rather than maiden surname when one or other parent registered the births.
Now need to find the evidence
-
Still need to find birth regs of Winifred May and Percy
-
Rosalie Mead may have had a brother - Arthur George reg Chesterton Q2 mmn Fuller. There is a baptism of an Arthur George Mead in Landbeach on 25 May 1884, mother Annie (widow). Note says posthumous child. Maybe the name Lawrence comes from a second marriage for Annie.

Annie married a Thomas Cole at Landbeach on 13 Sep 1884, her father was William Fuller - labourer

In 1939 reg. three children are living with Walter and Rosalie in Stapleford ; Ronald 1917, Reginald 1921 and Gwennie 1923.
I found Herbert W Worboys married Miriam Ketteridge 1938, Cambridge 3b 1446, but could't see them in the 1939 reg.
There is a death notice for Herbert, 12 May 1954 Cambridge, which records his death 12 May 1952
Ethel A Worboys married Henry W Squires 1936. Living in Cambridge in 1939.
Still looking for Rosalie's transition from Mead to Lawrence.

To recap: Children of Rosalie so far
Winifred May Cole (Warboys on 1911 census) birth reg 1905 Q3 Royston Vol 03A P 741 mmn - (implied Cole - illegitimate)
Percy Warboys (on 1921 census) b 1911 birth reg not found, nor any trace of him after 1921
Ethel Annie Warboys (on 1921 census) birth reg 1912 Q4 Chesterton mmn Mead
Walter H Worboys (on 1921 census) birth reg as Herbert Walter 1915 Chesterton mmn Mead, birth date 19 Dec 1915 (from baptism record)
Ronald A (on 1921 census) 1917 birth reg 1917 Q3 Chesterton 3B 592 mmn Lawrence
Reginald G Warboys birth reg 1921 Q3 Chesterton 3b 741 mmn Lawrence
Gwennie Rosella Emily Worboys birth reg 1923 Q3 Chesterton 3b 682 mmn Lawrence
The change from Mead to Lawrence seems to have happened between 1915 and 1917.
Rosalie was born Mead mmn Fuller, but her mother was widowed when Rosalie was abt 2yrs old and subsequently married Thomas Cole.
Percy is the odd one, only found in 1921, presumably born just after the 1911 census, and never seen again. Can't find him as Cole, Mead, Lawrence or Worboys, unless he was not registered as Percy,
Added.
Walter Worboys married Rosalie Lawrence Q4 1915, Herbert Walter / Walter Herbert was registered with mmn Mead in Q1 1915, but baptism says birthdate 19 Dec 1915, could that be error on record and he was born in Dec 1914?
-
May be a complete co-incidence but
Going back to Rosalie's mother Ann(ie) Fuller. In 1891, she has married Thomas Cole as the widowed Annie Mead. On the census there are several children with Thomas and Annie
Walter M? b abt 1874 Duxford (Linton RD)
Emily b abt 1875 Wimbish (Saffron Walden RD)
Rose (our Rosalie)
Arthur George b 1884 (posthumously according to baptism)
Thomas b 1888
Annie 1991
All using surname Cole, as Thomas was bachelor when he married Annie, the first 4 children are hers. The large gap between Emily and Rosalie made me think that Annie had an earlier marriage before Mr Mead.
Then I found Ann Fuller married to George Lawrence 1873 Q3 Linton district.
In 1880 Ann Lawrence marries in Linton distict - one possible groom is George Mead
Are these two Anns the same person and is she Rosalie's mother?

But why would Rosalie take the surname of her older half sibling's father. Unless she got confused as to which of Mr Mead or Mr Lawrence was her real father. I think her mother died in 1911, so she wouldn't be able to ask her when marrying Walter and registering births of later children, but half sister Ellen Lawrence was not far away. Maybe she thought they were full sisters.
-
It is strange.
We know Rosalie was living with Walter Worboys from 1911 onwards and their, I assume their, first children born were registered with MEAD as the mother's name. She then marries Walter in 1915 with the name LAWRENCE and the next three children have mother's name recorded as LAWRENCE.
I couldn't find Rosalie in 1901 to see which surname she used. I guess in 1905, if Winifred was her child, she was somewhere near Royston.
