Good morning,
Could you please decipher the name of the Bride's parent?
Would it be Mother or Father?
Kind regards

This is a really tiny scan.
Are you able to scan just the word/s that are problematic at the highest and best scan, or divide it into parts and put them up.
Thanks

Hi shanreagh,

As the others have said image a bit small to read ?
For reference only looking at the marriages 1903 I can see 2 with a middle name beginning with a L
Is it Annie Linn Campbell who married a Oliver Johnston Paton ?
This Ann Linn Campbell died 1918 Bonnyrigg
Birth for Ann Linn Campbell 1880 Dundee
This Annie can be found on the 1901 census 10 Hillhead Bonnyrigg with her grandmother Maria Campbell Annie's occupation carpet setter which matches occupation on marriage

You would be better to get the birth certificate for Ann Linn Campbell 1880 Dundee to see what it says
You can find her on the 1881 LDS census which is free on S P no mention of a father her mother is listed as Joanna Campbell age 24 born abt 1857 Dundee
The Grandmother Maria Campbell is in Bonnyrigg 1891 census
Rosie
-
She must have been illegitimate as no father's name given and no married name given for her mother.
Her mother is Jean Campbell. She has a middle name, but that's not clear on the image. She is deceased, and her occupation is given as a carpet [ }, the second word is not clear.
-
Yes thats why the birth certificate is worth viewing to see what it says mother must have died between 1881 -1901
Still looking for them on the 1891 census ?

As I thought I think there were several children born illegitimate to Maria Linn
They can be found on census records with Maria and her parents in Dysart

You could contact Scotland's People and ask for a clearer image which might help with middle name can't find a death for her but the death for Grandmother
Maria Lynn age 88 Dalkeith 1917 mmn Suttie
Maria Campbell age 8 (which is a mistake ) Dalkeith 1917 mmn Suttie
Ref number for both 683/9

Hello
I think the mother's name on the original scan might be Jean Duncan Campbell, Carpet Factory Worker (deceased)
Best wishes

Hi Rosie, Thanks for these replies. Will look at Johan Linn as you suggest.
Is it possible that parents name may be Joanna Lundie. Found with a Maria on 1881 Census at 22 Laing Street, Dundee. Also found Ann Linn Patons death on Find my Grave with daughter Margaret died December 1918
