Hello
I need to find a birth certificate for my grandmother who was born in Bessarabia in 1908 - I have tried google translate on the National Archive of the Republic of Moldova but drawn a blank. I also started accessing church records of Moldova but the writing is in Cyrillic so struggling.
Not sure if there is an easier way to find out. She was a displaced person during World War 2 and ended up in Germany - I have found documents on Arolsen Archives which state no birth certificate with her.
Any help would be appreciated.

Whereabouts in Bessarabia was she born?

She was born in Bendery according to paperwork we have found.

For some reason I didn't get a notification of your response.
Bendery is now known as Bender or Tighina
Some records are on family search, I don't know if you have already looked here. You may have to view at a LDS family history centre as some are only available on microfilm.

Have you tried a search for her surname on Gedbas. There are some names from Bender/Tighina (use both) using the metasearch
