I am researching the Corles family. In particular the descendants of Captain William Corles born in Chester 1782 and died Worcester 1848. His children seem to have all grown up in Worcester and were a pretty important family there.
Through comparison of DNA matches I've managed to pinpoint that there is some kind of connection between the Corles family and the family of Pamela Osgood nee Huckson b. 1884 in Tipton, Staffordshire. Her ancestors were canal boat people. They seem to have been based mostly in Worcestershire which makes sense with the Corles connection, but I cannot for the life of me figure out exactly where in the families the connection is. Also, although they lived in similar areas they don't seem like families that would have had much to do with each other. Can anyone thing of any ideas I might be overlooking?

Long shot if the Osgood nee Huckson family were boat people could the Corles family own a factory that used them to transport what ever they manufactured ??? ???
I only say this as you mentioned "although they lived in similar areas they don't seem like families that would have had much to do with each other" which to me says you think they are from different classes and wouldn't normal mix but in business they may have.
Not sure if this helps but just an idea.
Good luck and happy hunting ;)

Is this Pamela’s marriage?
William Osgood Spouse Pamela Huckson
Marriage 23 June 1907
Barking, Essex, England
Parents Alfred Osgood
I do not see a birth registration for Pamela but on the 1891 census below she is with the family, her father is a Boat Builder.

The surname Corless primarily originates from England and is considered a variant of the surname Corliss, which itself is thought to be a nickname derived from the Old English word "careless". This nickname would have been given to someone who was carefree, cheerful, or benevolent.
Worcester all Q3 marriages: None to Osgood
1843 Helena Margaret CORLES – 3 possible options for spouse.
1844 Henrietta CORLES - 4 possible options for spouse.
1845 Emma CORLES - 4 possible options for spouse.
There is also this marriage record on FS, which is rather strange.

CORLES, ANN 57 (wife maybe but no marriage record)

CORLES, EDWARD 54

CORLES, FANNY 39 (Wife of William)?

No registered marriage Corles to Osgood in England or Wales as far as I can see but there are Osgood BMDs in Worcestershire.
No clear connection between the two but above may help others. The Worcestershire records on Ancestry might help?

It can be really difficult but keep trying to narrow it down. Some I have found via DNA and it could have been one 'brief encounter' that created a new branch of descendants!
The other problem is sometimes the births were registered wherever they stopped next and a lot of times not registered at all and they only turn up in a census. Names they were known as are not necessarily what they were registered as and birthplaces vague.

Hi. I'm out and about so can't check properly right now but a lot of those Corles names look familiar. In regards to the other family it is the Huckson line that is the connection rather than Osgood (Osgood was Pamela's husband). The names Turton and Rollason come up a lot on that line as well.
