Hello,
Im trying to date and find out details of the attached picture for my dad.
We think its WW1. Is anyone able to help us confirm?
If anyone can tell.me anything about the image that would be great. Years ago I think I figured out which relative the image connected to. However, I cannot seem to find any of my notes!
Thank you in advance.

The hard peaked cap is WW1, it was replaced by the folding forage cap in WW2.
The puttees binding the ankles were also WW1.
Viktoria.

The forage cap which replaced the hard peaked cap in the photograph was WW2 .

Most likely WWI.
There would appear to be all around 130 men in the photo, so possibly a company (a unit within a battalion).
Photo perhaps taken prior to embarkation for service overseas.

Those seated on chairs in the front are the officers, their badges of rank are on the lower sleeves.
