Title: 2nd Battalion Gold Coast Regiment
Post by: littleliz02 on Thursday 17 July 25 20:28 BST (UK)
After waiting nearly 2 and half years we have eventually received the records my my husband's grandfather ETS Smith.
It lists where he was and the dates, having joined Durham Light Infantry in 1928, it lists him as being in 2nd Battalion GCR in 1943 during WW2, in India and Burma.
I would appreciate it any links and information on the this Battalion.

Fairly limited information available about this unit. Take a look here: History of Ghana's Northern Command (https://web.archive.org/web/20110928022424/http://www.gaf.mil.gh/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=38&Itemid=74)
and here: 2nd West African Infantry Brigade (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2nd_(West_Africa)_Infantry_Brigade)
