Title: Pine Family tree
Post by: pines on Tuesday 08 July 25 01:42 BST (UK)
Hi all.  I am new to this.  I have just retired and have always wanted to do my family tree.  I have received quite a bit of information however it is in bits and pieces.  Is there a platform that can be used to put a family tree together.  I am also interested is seeing if there is still a relative on here by the name of Tony Cocks.  information regards 'Parkhurst Boys" as an ancestor by the name of William Astle was a part of this group of convicts sent to New Zealand and is related to me.  I am running a bit blind at the moment, to know where to start and any help would be much appreciated.  regards Vicky

Welcome to Rootschat!
I hope you have an interesting time when you start your family tree.
Of course your starting point must be yourself, followed by your parents, and then grandparents. Birth, Marriage and Death certificates are very important, and a free site you can use is FreeBMD and there is also another one called FreeREG as well, which is very useful. I started mine off on a very large sheet of paper before I transferred anything on to a Family Tree site. Familysearch is another free site you could also use. Happy hunting!
Regards.

Welcome.

I would suggest signing up to Ancestry.com.

Once subscribed you can build a Family Tree there plus they have plenty of available tutorials to watch.

Tutorials are also available on youtube.

I have attached a PDF file that I created so that I could share the information with Family.

Sorry that some of the images in the PDF file are a bit blurred, this forum has a file size limit and this is the result.

Not sure if you have seen this info about the Parkhurst Boys. There is quite a bit if you just Google. There is a 12 year Astle on the list.
