Title: WALTER McFARLANE McINNES , Luss.
Post by: trevalyn on Friday 04 July 25 09:36 BST (UK)
WALTER McFARLANE McINNES died on 9 June 1921 after having served with the Royal Field Artillery. Aged 33, unmarried,he was the son of Alexander and Jessie McInnes of Holly Cottage , Luss.
The McInnes family were long-term residents of Holly Cottage. Walter was one of 7 children, all born at Holly Cottage between 1877 and 1891. One sibling, Elizabeth, died there in 1897, aged 11. WALTER died there in 1921, his father Alexander in 1928 and his mother Jessie in 1931. The youngest of the family, Jemima (McAuslan) died there in 1959.
Walter's father, mother and sister Jemima are all buried in Luss Churchyard. All logic would suggest that Walter would lie buried there as well but extensive searches have produced no record of a burial.
Walter is entitled to War Grave status - if proof of burial can be found.
Can anyone help me to find the burial place of this Forgotten Soldier?
Any assistance would be gratefully received.
