Title: When did Alice Ellen Mc Cabe die.?

I have spent days and weeks trying to find out when my wife,s  granny died. Her details are Alice Ellen Mc Cabe of 13 Rockville Street Belfast. Born 13 Feb 1892. I have trawled the PRONI death  registrations web for hours now. she died sometime in the period 1965- 1975. She was married to a John James Mc Cabe known as Jack !!! who had died year before her death. No family members who are left can ever recall her funeral ?? Many thanks if you can get any information on her death.

So that gives you a specific year yes?

Have you found where he is buried in case they are together?

There might be a death/funeral notice in a local newspaper.

This has been a difficult search for us as most of the family are all dead and there is no one to ask when my wifes granny died or her husband ??  I remember visiting her once before I got married in 1964 and she was on her own then. After that I never seen her again or did my wife.

Couldn't find it using McCabe only got it by using 13 Rockville Street

Irish News Jan 23 1975
McCabe Jan 22 1975 (suddenly) at Hospital Alice beloved wife of the late John, 13 Rockville Street.

edit, oddly written in the first one I read but another says 'in hospital' rather than 'at Hospital'.

The Irish Newspaper Archives doesn’t have the Irish News newspaper for the entire year of 1974, which probably explains why I can’t find a notice for John.

Hopefully there will be a headstone with dates.

Thank you for trying to find Johns death date. When I first met my wife she brought me to meet Alice back in 1964. John was already dead then and Alice was a widow. I think he might have died between 1961 and 1964 ???

I thought he died the year before her, anyway if they used the Irish News I won’t find him I can only get 1970 to 1979, this year and 1925.

I think we took that to mean they died a year apart but maybe you meant to put "years before"  :)
