NO. I DIDN'T DO EITHER OF THOSE THINGS, I WAS REALLY CAREFUL AND I ACTUALLY USED LETTERS DENOTING THE RELATIONSHIPS WHICH WAS A TAD CONFUSING.
WHAT I THINK WAS THE LAST ISSUE WAS ADDING A FILE .. I DON'T HAVE THE TYPE OF SYSTEM THAT MAKES ANY OF THE REQUIRED FILES. I GAVE UP AND POSTED A 3 LINE OR SO ONE. I WAS JUST A LITTLE PEEVED AFTER SO LONG WORKING ON IT. THANKS FOR YOUR ANSWERS.

What type of system do you have?
If all else fails, do a screenshot and save that as a jpeg.

Hi Kiltaglassan, Sorry about the capitals. It was not intended to be shouting. I often get caps lock on instead of just shift for upper case . This time I just left it because I can read it better than lowercase. I am a bit on edged at the moment re some family history searching .
But my answer to Wexflyer is still the same . So I still have not solved the attachment issue. I kind a gave up and I think it might be best not to worry about adding it any more.
One way around it would be to use another machine that runs on Windows and then I should easily get a jpeg file transfer that to a usb and then upload from that.
KGarrard , Yes I read all of that on the file attachment but i am stuck with not a thing on this laptop will give me a jpeg. I also thought of a screenshot but that was I think too big file size wise so I gave up.
Anyway it was only a diagram to show how I think some cousins might be related as like on some of the online charts one can get. no names etc. but I've decided not to follow up on that issue here.

To add to that, if you give your attached file the same name that someone else has used in the past, it won't accept it, but I think you get an error message.

I didn't think it was shouting either - just a jammed caps lock. I have the opposite problem on old laptop - sticky shift on lhs, so everything in lower case
