Title: Ruth WALKER 1855-1929
Post by: Eyesee on Thursday 12 June 25 04:27 BST (UK)
Ruth WALKER arrived in NZ about 1863 with her mother, not sure where or if there were any other family. Nothing really showing up anywhere apart from her obituary in 1929.

In 1879 she married Henry RICHARDSON in Nelson. They later moved to Bunnythorpe in the Manawatu where he was Postmaster. Her and Henry had five children, although she did have a son before marriage in 1877, Herbert James WALKER, who later took the surname RICHARDSON.

Trying to find her mother's name and where she was born, presumably England.

Anyone come across this lady anywhere.

Thanks
Ian C

"Ruth WALKER arrived in NZ about 1863 with her mother"

What is your source for this information?....year of arrival?....arrived with mother?

Where was Ruth born in 1855?

Do not have the marriage cert. Would not be much use anyway as it is before January 1880 when parents names were included.

The info about when she arrived came from her obituary in the newspaper in 1929. Don't know where she was born.

Is this your family?

NEIL — At Feilding on December l16th Delia Isabel, the beloved wife of Percy Neil, and eldest daughter of Harry and Lucy  Richardson, of Bunnythorpe.

Do you see Ruth to be named Lucy in any other instance?

Thanks wivenhoe. Yes that is the right family.

She wasn't called Lucy at all that I have been able to find. The notice was probably handwritten and whoever has typeset it to print the paper has misread it.

Not sure where the Isabel came from but Delia was Henry/Harry's sister.

Have you obtained her death printout??

I must admit I have not found her death registration.

Thanks minniehaha.

I can't find her death anywhere either. Hence main reason for asking here.

Do have lots about her descendants but nothing about her ancestry.

I think even without parents' names her marriage may still be useful for the witness names.

Also, her birthplace should be listed on the later birth certificates for her children.

Death registration is I think number 1929/1152
It appears it possibly was misindexed on the site as it only shows up when searching for 1928 :(
