Title: The cap badge holds the clue
Post by: TROOPER ROLLO on Wednesday 11 June 25 15:14 BST (UK)
This is a group of WW1 soldiers. One of them is Ernest Rowles, but which one.
Is it possible to enhance the picture so the cap badges are more clear.
Ernest served with the Bedford Regiment and the Welch Regiment.
I know this is a tall order but any assistance would be much appreciated.

Only 2 of these men are wearing British uniforms & they are centre front.

I suspect this is just post war by the medal ribbons- possible 1919 Russia?  One is a Sgt and the other an RSM.  Appear to be infantry but the title and badges are too blurred.

I though the RSM was RFA.

This is the supposed picture of Ernest Rowles. His rapid promotion doesn't seem right does it?
And who are these other men in a foreign uniform and qwhere are they.

If he never went above the rank of Pte. he can't be any of the above.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this item.
