Good morning all - I’ve searched high & low I can’t find any trace of Samuel in 1861. Got him in 1851 in Gt Wakering living with his parents. Got him in 1871 living with 2 children, his sister & her daughter also in Gt Wakering.
He married a Sarah Ketcher in 1862 (FreeBMD) but she appears to have died before 1871.
Any help from you fabulous super sleuths gratefully received

Thank you Amondg - I’ve looked again at the 1861CR on FindMyPast & I still can’t find him even with your info. Could you please tell me who head of household was on that CR looks like there might be a transcription error.
Many thanks

got him - his birth has been entered as 1827 age 34 but when you look at the original transcript it’s 24.

Thanks Trish - yes thank you. Freereg is very useful but not unexpectedly there are gaps.
Yeap a close call but not as close as some & at least they got there before rather than after. It got really intriguing in the 20C😂
