Does anyone have any info please on Cain Smith a gypsy born in Buckinghamshire in 1733.
He is a direct descendant but is married (I think but cannot find a record) to a Sarah Hannah Taylor. Cain and Sarah have a child Wisdom - prince of the gypsies
She is also married and having children with a Tommy Smith (also a gypsy) at the same time with Tommy being the father of Absolom - king of the gypsies.
I keep going around in circles with this part of the tree so if anyone has any useful information I would be so grateful - thank you
-
For information only - Wisdom was baptised at Steeple Claydon, parents Cain and Sarah 28 Mar 1763
ADDED
How do you know that Cain was born in Buckinghamshire
-
Absalom Smith, King of the Gipsies was buried at Twyford age 60 on 10th February 1826. He was therefore born c1766 (to Tommy and Sarah :-\. )

There is this on Family Search on a tree link from Wisdom Smith's baptism record ???

This is attached to a tree that has a Sarah Taylor but NOT listed as wife and no marriage details??? ???
Birth: 1729 North Marston, Buckinghamshire, England
Death: abt 1780
Also no sources to confirm any of the above Sorry

That would make him around 105 when he died :-\
There is no death on GRO for a Cain Smith to tie in with that 1838 date

No holds barred in that newspaper report!

Before posting I felt I should refer to the current approach that "the attached reflects the views and attitudes that applied at the time ....&c, &c"
-
Reading that report makes me think of recent newspaper reports of families going into a restaurant, eating expensive meals and walking out without paying.
-
gc and Rosie - exactly the same information that I have - when i load everyone into my ancestry tree, it goes crazy, Sarah was having children to 2 men every year for about 10 years ???
It's so confusing, I can't get definite record to tie Cain in to all of the children. Tommy Smith and Sarah have lots of records in Derbyshire. I am trying hard not to rely on Ancestry tree info as its too easy to add incorrect information.
Both royal gypsies have newspaper reports on the funerals. Wisdom was accompanied by the poet John Clare during his time in Lincolnshire.
Absolom and Wisdom have the same mum but not dad. I've tried taking Tommy out but it's not helping. Sarah must have been many women in one! ;D

How do you know that it is the same Sarah having children to 2 different men. :-\
