Title: Help with deciphering handwriting on Royal Navy record
Post by: Andsm on Wednesday 04 June 25 10:11 BST (UK)
I am trying to decipher some handwriting on my 5x Great-grandfather's Royal Navy record. I can work out the "supr list no 165" refers to supernumeraries list number 165 but I cannot work out what the next column to the right says. If anyone could help that would be great.

Thanks,

Andrew

Just a guess, Late Barbra, ie HMS Barbara (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Barbara)

Yes. Thanks. That's why I couldn't find the ship's logs for HMS Somers. The name had reverted back to HMS Barbara!
