Can anyone help me find Ethel Featherstone on the 1911 Census?
She was born 23/12/1874 Ethel Roberts and married George Featherstone in Salford in 1896.
I believe they only had 1 daughter, Lucy Featherstone.
1881 - Manchester with Grandparents
1891 - Manchester with Grandfather
1901 - Salford with husband George & daughter Lucy
1911 - ?
1921 - Domestic Servant in Rawtenstall, Lancashire
1939 - Pensioners Widow in Blackpool
Many thanks,
Francesca.

Was George still alive in 1911? and have you found Lucy in 1911?

There is a Lucy 14 with an Alice not Ethel 34 both born Manchester in Wales in 1911 - both visitors to the Welch household :-\
Do you think that might be them? Alice is down as a widow and a mantle maker millinery
Possible death for George age 28 in 1902

I saw the 1911 for Lucy Featherstone with Alice Featherstone, but I assumed it wasn't her as I didn't recognise the 'Alice Featherstone', but I suppose she could have been a sibling of her Father perhaps, I'll have to research her to find out.

I'm confused by this actually, on the 1901 Census record Ethel and George Featherstone are living with their 4 year old daughter 'Lucy', however Lucy Featherstone (who was definitely Ethel's daughter) was born 16th October 1886, so she was in fact 14 years old.
I cannot find a birth for Lucy Featherstone in 1886.
I'm suspecting that she was not the daughter of George Featherstone.

George and Ethel did not marry until March qtr 1896.

IF the above is correct - at a quick glance, this is what it seems to look like.........
Thomas Featherstone 1828 - 1895 and Hannah Johnson 1828 - 1884 - Lincolnshire - had William Featherstone 1850 who married Caroline Goulding (passed 1902) George Featherstone born 1874 was a son who married Ethel Roberts - 1894.
George and Ethel had a daughter Lucy - Lucy married Francis Edward Nolan in 1926
Thomas and Hannah also had a son Tom Henry Featherstone in 1874 - Thomas married Lydia Crooks in 1894 Sheffield.
This is the Lydia Featherstone who is on the 1939 register with Ethel Featherstone (widow) and Lydia Featherstone Nolan.
George Featherstone born 1859 son of Thomas and Hannah married Fanny Hurton 14 August 1881 West Gorton. St Mark, Lancashire
I believe this could be George

Given Ethel was b c1874, are you really suggesting she had a child in 1886, when she'd be around 12 yrs old?
Th e1896 date seems much better

Sheffield Indexers has recorded the burial for Tom Henry at City Road Cemetery, grave no. 10096, section Z. Then, selecting "Find Similar in Same Grave" returns Lydia plus four infant Featherstones, also a Mary Elizabeth Whittle d1947 a65. Is she connected? Or a possible indexing error.

Yes, Lucy did marry Francis Nolan, I'm in contact with their daughter who's just turned 94. She has very little knowledge about her parents.
There were whispers in the family that George Featherstone's death was suspicious, I see from the article that he suffered 'a brief illness'.
From what has been posted (thank you very much for your help) the pub at Eccles Road was also where my Great Grandmother worked and is listed on the 1901 census as 'Nellie Holan' which is a mistranscribed 'Nolan'. William Featherstone is the head at the time.
Lucy Nolan is listed on the 1939 register as having been born in 1886. With her being born in 1896 this means she was 20 years younger than her husband Frank, born 1876 (which is news to their daughter, she didn't realise the gap was so large).

If you look very carefully at the image, there appears to be a very feint "96" and some more notation written above 1886 as if to correct her dob. They also have the son's year of birth wrong by 2 years, later corrected.
Someone knew her correct dob given the death registration has it correct

Ah yes, I see that now. I have it printed in black and white and it looks so faint, but now you’ve pointed it out I can see.
