Have found an entry in Ancestry.com.au styled ---- John in Australia, Death Index, 1787 - 1985.
Then: John
Spouse: Mary
Child: John D Campbell
No Surname given apart from that of the Child. No Date or place of Death shown.
Can someone please help me find more information?

Not sure if this is the above?

Thanks for your interest cupoflife. Have attached the ancestry source. Thought the death record would be of John rather than the child. Sadly I may be wrong.

Ancestry uses this style often.
The first two names (forenames only) are the parents, the death is of the person whose surname is shown - in this case, the death mentioned is that of John D Campbell, parents John and Mary and is almost certainly that found by others on NSW BMDs.
It's useful for searching.
