Title: Occupation on 1861 census
Post by: Aulus on Thursday 29 May 25 20:42 BST (UK)
Can anyone help me work out what Fanny Hinsley's occupation was (RG9/1858, p.19) in Madeley, Shropshire on the 1861 census, please?

I can now only see Asst under Keeping, which doesn't make any sense to me.

Wonder if it says “ Assisting under keeper “
Keeper of what though?
Pheasants for  the gentry to shoot?

Ooh. That's good.  I wonder if it could be "Assinsting in House Keeping"

Ah I see Shaun simul-posted that.
