This is a long shot, while I was caring for my mum who sadly passed away in 2024, she mentioned an uncle, at the time she was suffering from Dementia and Alzheimer's. I had never heard of him before so set about finding out if there was in fact an "uncle" Harry Peterson. I managed to find his birth certificate and his death certificate. He died at sea 17 Aug 1942 serving with the 5th Bn the East Yorkshire Regiment.
This is the long shot to my quest I am trying to find any photographs of Harry, I know I might be out of luck. I am afraid my mum was the last of her family and so the Peterson side of the family there are no surviving relatives.
Do not worry if no one can help, it is a last desperate plea for help.

How old was he when he died and was he single?
I wonder if his service papers would have a photo
-
He was 29 when he died per www.cwgc.org. Single in 1939 - no obvious marriage 1939-1942
-
Try local newspapers. Sometimes reports of war deaths had a photo. This is how I have a picture of my mum's cousin George Tarn, who died when HMS Barham was torpedoed in 1941.

I would like to thank everyone for their input, it’s much appreciated

There is a Harry Peterson in the Hull Daily Mail 2 Nov 1943, Mrs Peterson was given the news and her address was Greek Street, Hull. I know it's not 1942 but posting in case it helps with your search into the Peterson surname.
-
Greek Street is where he was living in 1939. A brother is also shown & it looks as though both were born in Toxteth - Liverpool.
Keith - does that location fit your FH research?

I cannot thank you enough.
Thank you so much, it was such a nice surprise to open my email this morning to see Harry’s face staring back at me.
Once again thanks.

CarolW,
I have checked back on my FH notes and yes I have found only once the mention of Greek Street.
Harry and his brother Edwin were both born in Liverpool Toxteth.
I am so happy with the results and the help people on this site have provided. I thought it was going to be a mundane Sunday but the results have been outstanding.

One added point I have noticed within the notification of Harry's death, the mention of his boxing prowess.
Prior to my mum sadly passing away she did mention that someone in her family was a boxer.
Kind Regards

Willsy,
Yes I could not believe it this morning opening up my messages an to see Harry’s photo.
A bit of a long story, my late mums dad Rodmond died when she was 8 and I have managed to find one photo of him.
My Great Gran, Harry’s mum, Susan lost one son in 1942, but but going by the date of the newspaper cutting she did not know until possibly 1943. But she lost my grandad in 1943 and another son Edmond …what a terrible year 1943 must have been for my Gt Gran.
That’s why the photo of Harry means a lot to me.
