Title: Mother on Birth Certificate 1884
Post by: Rowan Tree on Thursday 22 May 25 13:44 BST (UK)
Hi,

I have a birth certificate of John ASPEY born 18/07/1884 at 24 Swan Street, Ashton-under-Lyne.

John doesn't have a father on his birth certificate. John's mother is Ellen ASPEY.

Could someone help me read what's beneath Ellen ASPEY's name on the birth certificate, please?

Many thanks, Rowan Tree  :)

Tickettyboo, yes, I believe you have it. From censuses, Ellen has occupations in cotton mills, so a frame tenter makes perfect sense.

Many thanks, Rowan Tree  :)

Frameworker is really close, but I believe Ticketyboo has it with "Frametenter." Many thanks, though  :)
