Hi
I have two references to a place of birth in Europe for a family member who migrated to Australia in the wake of WWII. Both places as recorded I am unable to locate anywhere, mainly using Google. Is anyone aware if either of these places exists or have just been recorded very badly.
The two variants are Grundipolevny and/or Grondupolewna. The point of embarkation to Australia was Bremerhaven in Germany.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds more Polish than German?
Can you post a snippet of the placename?
-
Yes, both versions seem other than Germanic
I'm having issues with adding a snippet as you can see...
Managed it.....
...and the other version...

Ah! So it's a transcription, or typewritten, rather than original handwriting!

Yes...is that bad?
I uploaded the other version on the previous post, scroll it down...doesn't help laying on the floor doing this!
Thanks for looking at it.

Transcriptions sometimes bear little relation to the original handwriting! :D
I was hoping to see the handwriting.

Closest I can find so far is Grądy Polewne; the letter with the diacritic makes an "on" sound.

I could copy into my handwriting and cloud the issue. Would that help? ;D
