Need help with place name for James Smyth who resided in Co. Limerick, Ireland.
Thankyou,
Jen.

Hard to be sure from such a small snippet of the handwriting but could it be a variation of Limerick?
You can use this site to search for townlands by putting in as much or as little as you like-

Very difficult to decipher that place name but is this the James Smyth who was Mayor or Limerick in 1751, having been Sheriff in 1741.

Here is the complete Betham extract for handwriting comparison. The Limerick in the second
last line perhaps appears different to the unknown word.

The larger image makes it easier to see the first letter isn't a D as it first appeared it might be. Still think it starts with L (with flourishes) and could be Limerick.

I agree with aghadowey - Limerick with a flourish.

Thankyou aghadowey and heywood - Limerick it is!
