Hi I am looking for a birth or baptism for Charles Cornelius Plunket born abt 1776 Waterford died Southampton 1838 i have a possible farther as John Francis , wanting to find definite parents.

In Ireland, civil registration of births, Catholic marriages & deaths started  in 1864 (from 1845 for Protestant & Registrar’s Office marriages).

Before the start of civil registration, you are dependent on church records for baptisms and marriages, and you will need to verify a religion and a more exact location (such as parish).

Many Catholic parish records are online (free)- https://registers.nli.ie/
However, few, if any, will go back to 1800 let alone to 1770s.
