Title: Durkin family in County Mayo to Bradford England around year 1840 or so
Post by: DurkinJM50 on Tuesday 06 May 25 16:54 BST (UK)
Hi
My great grandfather Patrick Durkin left County Mayo, Ireland to get work in the Linen Mills of Bradford. Once there he married Mary Gallagher in 1854 in The Parish Church in Bradford, England.

He was 22 years old and Mary was 19.

Relatives Ancestry trace back to  around Connacht, Ireland. The four provinces there of  Galway · Leitrim · Mayo · Roscommon · Sligo .

Appreciate any help for information linking Durkin.

Thanks

Welcome to Rootschat.
I have asked a moderator to move your post and then we can try to help you.

It would help if you purchased the marriage certificate which would give you Patrick’s father’s name. That may help with Mayo research, as civil records in Ireland did not begin until 1864.
