For information Dryburn Park House was a Durham County Council older persons home. It was situated not far from University Hospital of North Durham, the old Dryburn Hospital. The site is now houses/flats. I had a distant relation worked there.

So Sandra.  What is the name of Rowland Dawson's  place of burial ?  I looked up that link you provided. Seems to me that "Priory Cottage,Framwellgate Moor are the funeral directors. I appreciate this help. Being across the pond  certainly doesn't make research easy.

It only says “cremation Monday at Durham”

So no burial place ?  At least they could have mentioned Ashes scattered or  Ashes stored in someone's closet. Perhaps I can run down the name of the daughter mentioned in the death announcement.  I was hoping to provide a conclusion to my Ancestry page. Plus post Amy & Rowland on Findagrave.com.
Thanks for helping me out

If it’s cremation at Durham as it says in that notice, then it would be at Durham Crematorium on South Road. There is a book of Remembrance for there which you can search to see if there is an entry, but you have to pay to have the name put in there so not all names are recorded in there.

Priory cottage is the posh name the coop gives to its funeral premises. The coop are a large provider of funeral services in the uk and many of them have ‘ fancy’ names and there are many of them in the North East and further afield.
