Trying to find information about Catherine Cameron MacQueen Dockery's (1823-1894) parents. They were Ewen Cameron and Catherine McPherson. Catherine came out to NZ with her daughter in 1840 on the Blenheim and was listed as age 45 and widowed. Her other children with her on the ship included Angus and Mary.
From this, I assume Ewen died before 1840 but I can't find any death certs so I cannot determine his age. I found a marriage certificate for Ewen and Catherine from 1819 in Bracadale. Their daughter Catherine was born there as well.
I also can't find any of Catherine's as she died in NZ but I have no clue when or where. If anyone could find some information that would be great!
Their daughter, Catherine, married Archibald MacQueen and lived in Canterbury. After his death in 1860, she married John Apps Dockery.

Kia Ora,
I have found some information, but it will need a lot of checking out.
Angus born 1822 Bracadale, Catherine born 18/4/1823 Bracadale, Mary born 3/12/1830 Bracadale.
Angus dies 3/4/1873 Canterbury, Mary dies Roslyn Dunedin 19/2/1886. There is a tree showing father Ewen died in Snizort Inverness shire also 3/4/1873 so probably wrong date for Angus a mistype. However if this is true then Catherine would not have been a widow when she went to NZ. The tree also shows Ewen's wife Catherine dying in Snizort Inverness shire 28/1/1888 15 years after her husband died. two of her children had died by this point, so maybe she went back home to Scotland.
Regards.

There don't appear to be any matches on ScotlandsPeople for a Ewen death in 1873 or a Catherine in 1888.

Thank you all for your responses! Yeah, I've had a look at that document about the Blenheim, and I found the passenger list so I feel like that confirms that Catherine and her mother both came over in 1840. I just wonder what happened after that, or if I got the wrong parents altogether since it seems difficult to find information about them.
